Alive and Well in his Mission

We received the following email and pictures from Spencer's Mission President today! We had been hoping to hear something all day Tuesday and by Wednesday night had resigned ourselves to thinking that "no news is good news". Then this came today! He's ALIVE!!!! :-)

Thank you for all of your continued prayers for our missionary! We love you all!

Dear  Brother and Sister Christofferson,
We are happy to inform you of the arrival of your son to the Brazil Salvador South Mission on August 30, 2016.  In words taken from scripture: “We lift up our hearts and rejoice, for the hour of Elder Christofferson’s mission has come and his tongue shall be loosed, and he shall declare glad tidings of great joy unto the people of Bahia.” (D&C 31:3)
We met him at the airport and enjoyed spending the day with him.  He is wonderful to be around.  He is confident and we love his enthusiasm for the language, the gospel, and our beautiful mission. It is fun to say “Elder Christofferson” and we think of him and the apostle.  We also appreciate the connection you have to our niece, Heidi, and her husband Danny.   Attached is a picture of him with us at the mission home.
He was assigned to serve in area of California (an American name!) in the city of Itabuna.  His companion is Elder Moroni Santana who is from Rio Grand do Sul, Brazil.  Although you can send packages to his city, we recommend for security reasons, that you please send packages to the mission office address which is printed below.
We are grateful for the continual influence of new missionaries with their faith, enthusiasm, and testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We look forward to serving with Elder Christofferson.  Thank you for sharing him with us.

Sincerely,

President and Sister Bangerter
